Our Dream

Indigo Beach Properties was established April 7, 2008, with very specific goals in mind for a new kind of full-service real estate company with a primary focus on beach and coastal properties. We, the founders, Neal and Paula Woods, envisioned a real estate company that is completely transparent in our business dealings with our client friends, our real estate agents, outside real estate agents and our team of support vendors.

The World Wide Web has now matured to the point that we can take advantage of this efficient tool to build a successful, full-service real estate company without the costly overhead and the fixed costs of a central office. Now, the web has made it possible to work from a home office to transact business, upload listings, upload images, e-mail reports, represent listings on websites and keep in constant communication with our client friends.

This is our dream, to build a successful real estate company that moves past the established business model and creatively conducts business in a way that is an advantage to our client friends and our real estate agents.

Our Philosophy

Why the name Indigo Beach Properties? The color indigo symbolizes wisdom, self-mastery, spiritual realization and the color helps to increase personal thought, profound insights, and instant understandings. The color can also provide inspirations that seem to 'come out of the blue'. Why not apply these qualities to a full-service real estate company.

As for the Beach Properties, this is our area of marketing concentration. By in large, Santa Cruz County is a Beach Community, but more specifically, we like to focus our efforts on properties that have a relationship with the ocean – if you can see it, hear it, smell it or walk to it – this is the type of property on which we focus. We do list and help client friends purchase property in Santa Cruz County that may not fit the classic description of a beach property, but that is because we honor all client referrals and requests.

We believe in seizing every opportunity, no matter the size, to be of service to our client friends. We can only tell you from personal experience, how rewarding this has been in working with some of our client friends in real estate. What a wonderful combination, to offer full-service real estate services, and yet be in a position to make new and wonderful friends for life!

We believe that our personal rewards will multiply when we are focused on giving rather than receiving. We do this from a perspective of making a difference for someone and let the universe handle the details of our personal rewards.

We’ve done our homework. With over 17 years of experience in the real estate business, we’ve developed strong opinions about what are the positive aspects of the real estate business.

As a real estate professional, we believe it is okay to work from the home office thereby providing an opportunity to blur the distinction between work, family and play. The daily routine of “going to the office” is broken providing more efficient work time. The flexible working hours actually help an agent get more done.

Our compensation package for real estate agents is generous and fair putting less stress on them due to sliding commission scales, additional escrow fees and costs for the materials and supplies needed to conduct business. We provide an environment where agents can maximize their earning potential.

When you decide to sell your home or purchase a home it is one of the biggest financial decisions most of us make in our lives. The real estate agent and company you choose to work with will have a big impact on your experience.

You know the sinking feeling that comes from putting yourself in someone else’s hands, only to have your faith betrayed? Of course you do! That’s the boat we’re all in these days. But trust and honesty are not dead, and we’re here to prove it.

Our coastal environment not only inspires us, but reenergizes us. We are unabashed ambassadors for the beach community of Santa Cruz County. When we take care of our beach environment, everyone’s quality of life is improved.

With that in mind, as a corporation, Indigo Beach Properties, contributes a portion of each closed escrow to our local non-profit organization, Save Our Shores .

We like what this group stands for; caring for the marine environment through ocean awareness, advocacy and citizen action.

Because we do not have the infrastructure of an office complex, and all that goes with it, Indigo Beach Properties is friendly to the environment. We are using the resources already in place to build a creative real estate business.
